Sarah Morrissey –
A spacious and cosy self-contained room with a handy kitchenette and large ensuite and spa. The large floor to ceiling windows allow gorgeous views of the valley and make the most of natural lighting. Watching the kangaroos graze in the field nearby, while relaxing on the deck directly outside the sliding door, is a special treat and lovely way to end the day.
We highly recommend a stay in this delightfully furnished and comfortable room!

Lee & Sari (verified owner) –
My partner Sari and I found The Beet Retreat on Google after deciding that we “wanted to stay somewhere like Edgar’s Mission” and we were NOT disappointed! We stayed in The Treetops Room which was spacious, modern yet homely, immaculately well looked after with a bathroom most could only dream of, kitchen with microwave and fridge and best of all, some stunning hanging photography of the farm and its resident animals.
On arrival we were immediately, warmly (almost overwhelmingly!) greeted by Mac the kelpie (and such a gentleman!), as well as Smoxy and Krazy the cats (both also super affectionate). As Jan was out, we went straight to our room and laid on the bed looking out the big glass doors at the breath-taking scenery to unwind from the big drive in. Smoxy made himself comfortable on top of us and already we were just elated.
Shortly after, Jan arrived home and greeted us both with a big hug. A long-term friendship was created on the spot. We spent 2 nights with Jan and other guests, cooking together, eating and drinking together and having a wonderful time.
We highly recommend staying more than 1 night. By the morning after our arrival we were so glad we had another full day, night and morning to spend at The Beet Retreat. It was only a short drive to some marvelous places to visit such as the Alowyn Gardens and St Andrew’s market (every Saturday!), as well as the centre of Healesville where we had some incredible pizza and paella at Innocent Bystander.
Jan’s knowledge of whole food plant based cooking is vast and you can learn a lot from her during your stay. In our cooking class we made delicious pasta, capsicum all-purpose dip/sauce/dressing, salads, as well as “meatballs” and “ice-cream” that could fool any non-vegan. Jan also made us some extravagant porridge, and jaw-dropping breakfast waffles (loaded with so much goodness).
We genuinely cannot wait to visit again someday. Thank you so much Jan and The Beet Team (Mac, Smoxy, Subi, Krazy, the Queen’s, the equines and the sheep)!

Had a fabulous stay in the Treetops room to celebrate my 60th birthday. Jan greeted us like old friends. We felt at home straight away. What a beautiful property! So peaceful and all the animals are super friendly much to my delight! Jan is a whiz in the kitchen. We had the most delicious meal and she even whipped up a birthday cake and sang happy birthday to me! Breakfast was yummy. Would highly recommend a visit to the Beet Retreat, but one night is definitely NOT enough!
Jan –

What an amazing retreat!
I found this vegan retreat on the Net and booked it.
It definitely exceeded my expectations!!
Beautiful, tranquil place with an amazing vibe.
Set on a beautiful property, surrounded by nature, in gorgeous QLD.
Jan is a beautiful soul who is welcoming, kind and fun to be around. She has a passion for vegan food and shows you how to create the most amazing vegan meals, that do not disappoint (even if you are a carnivore).
The food was the best vegan food I have ever had, and Jan’s personalised cooking classes were priceless, not only informative, easy to follow, they left you with deliciously fantastic food and a wealth of knowledge.
You must visit the Beet Retreat, you will not be sorry!
